About This Place

Nestled in the heart of New York’s Upper West Side, Irving Farm Coffee is much more than your average coffee shop—it’s a vibrant community hub where craft coffee meets cozy charm. As specialists in coffee roasting and a beloved espresso bar, this café offers a rich, aromatic experience that truly celebrates the art of coffee from bean to cup.

Step inside their inviting space at 224 W 79th St and you’ll immediately notice the warm, relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re settling in with a book in their tucked-away reading corner or catching up with friends at one of the spacious tables bathed in natural light from the skylight, Irving Farm Coffee invites you to stay a while. The eclectic background tunes and the friendly, attentive staff make every visit feel personal and welcoming.

Their menu is a thoughtfully curated blend of quality and comfort. Coffee aficionados will savor the depth and clarity in their drip coffee ($4.00), or for a bolder kick, their cold brew ($6.00) packs a smooth, refreshing punch. Fans of espresso-based drinks will find a home here with classics like the velvety cappuccino ($5.50), the indulgent mocha ($6.50), or the exotic turmeric latte ($6.50), each crafted with precision and attention to detail.

Pair your drink with a selection from their bakery delights that are nothing short of irresistible. Flaky, buttery croissants, the decadently sweet banana nut muffins, and their signature donuts provide the perfect complement to your coffee. If you prefer something savory, be sure to try the Lox Bagel or the inventive Egg and Cheese English Muffin—a farm-fresh, fluffy scrambled egg and sharp cheddar married on a lightly toasted English muffin that feels like a warm hug with each bite.

Irving Farm’s breakfast and brunch offerings vividly showcase their commitment to fresh, thoughtful ingredients. The Avocado Toast is elegantly simple yet bursting with flavor, topped generously on hand-toasted bread. For those needing a quick but satisfying lunch, the Shokupan Egg Salad Sandwich or the Tunisian Tuna Sandwich elevate the grab-and-go concept with their rich, layered flavors and fresh, crisp components.

Customers consistently praise Irving Farm for providing not only excellent coffee but a genuine, comfortable environment. Ettore Michelin raved about their lavender latte and the cozy book corner—a distinctive feature for a café that invites relaxation beyond just good food and drink. Beth Cato highlighted the perfect pairing of the Cinnamon Cardamom Bun with peppermint tea, noting the café’s suitability for work meetings and casual chats alike. Sterling Hitchcock’s affirmation of the best herbal/hibiscus tea in Manhattan speaks to the range of expertly crafted beverages available, while Connie Kwok’s mention of the clean, spacious interior and journaling-friendly vibe captures the essence of what makes this coffee destination so special.

Irving Farm Coffee stands out by combining expert roasting with an inviting community space that nurtures connection, creativity, and comfort. Damn, I should have tried their summer drinks, they look delicious! My lavender latte was too, of course! It'll be a good excuse to come back. Love Irving Farm UWS, it's cozy, staff is friendly, good tunes in the background, and love the book corner in the back of the cafe, very unique! I had coffee at their stores in lower Manhattan, and their beans really make a difference! See you soon :)

A great little coffee shop on the Upper West Side. Their Cinnamon Cardamom Bun is awesome, though messy, and goes well with their hot peppermint tea. Their croissants looked incredible, too. Lots of people were sitting in here to work on their laptops. I had a business meeting here for over an hour, and it was a great place to chat.

Best herbal/hibiscus tea in Manhattan. Sweeten it accordingly with the classic/house syrup on the self-serve stand. I don’t know why they don’t have WiFi though, makes no sense.

3.5 / 5.0 - My friends and I were looking for a cafe for some coffee / tea and decided on Irving Farm because they have a spacious seating area in the back with a skylight. It was completely full, which is understandable for a Saturday afternoon, with a mix of people catching up and others on their laptops. Fortunately, a table opened up soon after we arrived and we were able to sit. Our table was in the corner and sectioned off, so we had our own little quiet corner, which was nice for catching up. I ordered the medium Matcha Latte ($6.25+), which was good. I also wanted a cookie or something sweet, but their selection of pastries was limited at 2pm. Perhaps, mornings are better for a wider selection.

If you need your Matcha latte fix, this is the place. It is 7$. They also sell prepared egg sandwiches that can throw you back to the one you might have had in Japan. It is vegetarian.
